How OKHT Works

• OKHT is open to every Canadian Musician Aged 8-18
  
  
• You must fill in the Application and submit it along with Competitor’s Release Form & Payment by February 17, 2012 (both available in a downloadable PDF HERE)
  
  
• Please read the General Information and Competition Rules
  
  
• You may enter as a Single, Duo, Trio, Quintet, and Band up to 5 band members
  
  
• Singers and all Musical Instruments welcome – NO KARAOKE BACKTRACKS ALLOWED
  
  
• Backtracks created by You will be Allowed
  
  
• Backtracks created by ‘live’ musicians known personally to You will be Allowed
  
  
• Auditions – February 18 & 19, 2012
  
  
• You will perform two songs (over 18 accompaniment allowed)
  
  
• All backline (Drum Kit, Guitar Amp, Bass Amp, Keyboard and all Microphones supplied)
  
  
• Sound, Lighting Engineer and Stage Manager provided
  
  
• You will be Judged by 4 ‘seasoned’ well-respected Musicians on:

Overall Talent

Performance Ability

Stage Presence

Pitch Control

Connection with the Audience

• All Competitors will have access to Judge’s Comments and Percentile upon Request
  
  
• Audience attendance is FREE!
  
  
• Judges will decide their TOP TEN and announcements will be made by February 20, 2012
  
  
• TOP TEN PERFORMANCES – March 10, 2012
  
  
• You will perform 2 songs – a cappella, with accompaniment (over 18 accompaniment allowed) or band (up to 5 piece)
  
  
• You do not have to perform the same songs as you did for your audition
  
  
• You may bring in other band members for your ‘Gala’ performance that you did not have at your Audition but you MUST be the ‘featured’ artist – meaning your band members are accompaniment only
  
  
• You will compete for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place Grand Prizes as well as:

Best Single Performance

Best Performance of Duo or More

Best Overall Performance

Best Stage Performance

Best Marketer
