About Our Kids Have Talent
Mandate, Education, and Sponsorship Consideration
With a focus on supporting the musical education of youth, Our Kids Have Talent will follow its mandate to provide opportunities for artistic development through mentorship, self-esteem building, and educational musical workshops. We support opportunities for youngsters to perform their art on a professional stage, using professional sound and lighting engineers. Here, they are immersed in the musical energy of seasoned and award winning musicians from around the world and with that said, we are pleased to have played a part for them to perform at the 4th Annual Rarearth Music Fest which was held on July 23 & 24, 2011.
SPONSORSHIP:
Funds are continually re-invested into staging, lighting, and production, positive mentoring, and the successful marketing and organization of Our Kids Have Talent. To date over 250 children aged 8-18, with a vast range of talent, including those children with challenges, have been welcomed and given the opportunity to compete.
As well, this competition has been a stepping stone to a number of youngsters who have since pursued their careers in music. To name a few, Mica Lemiski has gone onto McGill University, Matt Harwood-Jones is saving for Berkley, Sam and Luke used their 1st place winnings to record an album with 7 x Juno Award Winner Producer Colin Linden; they also won the Down Child Blues ‘Make Me a Star’ award. Lucy and the Lucky Four played at the Nakusp Music Festival on the same stage as ‘The Animals’. Sean Riquelme was hand-picked by 5 Time Grammy Award Winner Mr. Buddy Guy to open for him – he’s 14! Brandon Schmor continues to 'wow' the crowds on his piano with his honky tonk blues. Beamer Wigley is booked throughout the Okanagan and has recently opened for Juno Nominee Shane Yellowbird - a huge accomplishment for an 8 year old!
I look forward to meeting with you personally to discuss your support for this very positive initiative for children. Please feel free to contact me at anytime.

Being a part of Our Kids Have Talent has been one of the most positive things in Beamer's life. I would encourage any child to give it a try. They have a lot to gain and nothing to lose.
